Acting Ambassador He Fen Meets with Former Maldivian Ambassador to China and CMCA President Mohamed Rasheed
On December 16, He Fen, Acting Ambassador of the Chinese Embassy in the Maldives, met with Mohamed Rasheed, former Maldivian Ambassador to China and President of the Chinese-Maldivian Cultural Association (CMCA).
During the meeting, He Fen commended Mohamed Rasheed and the CMCA for their long-standing efforts in fostering people-to-people ties between China and the Maldives. She emphasized that such exchanges form a crucial foundation for the strong bilateral relationship between the two countries. Highlighting the recent elevation of China-Maldives relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership during President Muizzu’s successful state visit to China earlier this year at the invitation of President Xi Jinping, He Fen noted that this milestone provides fresh impetus for cultural and interpersonal exchanges. She expressed hope that the CMCA would continue to play a vital role in advancing cultural interactions and contributing to further positive developments in China-Maldives relations.
In response, Mohamed Rasheed expressed gratitude for China’s consistent support of the CMCA. He affirmed the association’s unwavering commitment to strengthening the friendship between the two nations through a variety of cultural exchange initiatives. Rasheed pledged to continue building bridges of friendship between China and the Maldives, striving to enhance the well-being and mutual understanding of both peoples.
