CMCA and Yangzhou Polytechnic College Continue Basic Chinese Language Workshop in Hanimaadhoo for Second Year
The China-Maldivian Cultural Association (CMCA), in collaboration with Yangzhou Polytechnic College (YPC) and the Hanimaadhoo Council, has successfully launched the second annual Basic Chinese Language Workshop in Hanimaadhoo. This initiative reflects CMCA’s mission to foster global awareness, create opportunities for international collaboration, and develop skills that celebrate and strengthen the cultural and artistic ties between the peoples of China and the Maldives.
Yangzhou Polytechnic College has generously sent two experienced educators, Miss Wu Ying and Miss Su XueTing, to lead the workshop. Both teachers bring extensive expertise in teaching Chinese to non-native speakers, ensuring a high-quality learning experience for participants. The dedication of YPC in supporting such programs highlights the importance of fostering mutual understanding and friendship between nations through education.
The first class of this year’s workshop took place on December 19, 2024, with an enthusiastic group of 21 students and one staff member from the Hanimaadhoo Council in attendance. Notably, the Representative of CMCA in Hanimaadhoo and the Vice Principal of Hanimaadhoo School also joined the session, further emphasizing the collaborative spirit of this program. The workshop aims to not only teach the Chinese language but also immerse participants in cultural exchange, offering insights into the traditions and customs of China.
This program serves as a unique platform to equip participants with language skills that enhance cross-cultural communication while deepening mutual understanding and respect between China and the Maldives. By participating in this workshop, students are gaining more than just linguistic abilities; they are stepping into a broader world of opportunities and global connections. Such initiatives lay the groundwork for stronger people-to-people ties and promote international collaboration.
CMCA extends its heartfelt gratitude to YPC and the Hanimaadhoo Council for their unwavering support in making this program a success. The collective efforts of these organizations reflect a shared commitment to empowering Maldivian youth to embrace global opportunities. As the workshop progresses, it is expected to continue inspiring participants, creating lasting memories, and forging friendships that transcend borders. Together, these partnerships are a testament to the enduring cultural and educational relationship between the Maldives and China.
