CMCA Delegates from Maldives National University and Villa College Experience Chinese Culture on Cultural Exchange Visit
A group of 12 delegates from Maldives National University and Villa College recently returned from a cultural exchange visit to Beijing and Xian, organized by the China-Maldives Cultural Association (CMCA). The visit, which took place from 6th Jan to 16th Jan 2020, provided the participants with a unique opportunity to experience Chinese culture and engage in various activities.
During their visit to Beijing, the delegates visited the Great Wall and Ox street, two of the city's most popular tourist attractions. The Great Wall, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is an iconic symbol of Chinese civilization and culture, while Ox street is famous for its traditional architecture and street food.
In Xian, the delegates participated in calligraphy training at the Shaaxi Hanthan Cultural Creativity Institute, where they learned the art of Chinese writing from professional calligraphers. They also visited the Tang Dynasty city, a historical theme park that recreates the architecture and lifestyle of the Tang Dynasty, and Jiaotong (Communication University), where they learned about China's communication and media industry. In addition, the delegates visited the high-tech industrial park to learn about China's advancements in technology and innovation.
The visit also included participation in Shaaxi charestristics large-scale activities, which gave the delegates a firsthand experience of the local culture and traditions.
The CMCA aims to promote cultural exchange and cooperation between China and the Maldives, and the cultural exchange visit was part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen ties between the two countries. The visit was also an opportunity for the participants to learn about Chinese culture, language, and history, and to establish new friendships and connections with people from different backgrounds.
The delegates expressed their gratitude to the CMCA for organizing the visit, and for providing them with an opportunity to experience Chinese culture firsthand. They also expressed their hope to continue to work with the CMCA to strengthen cultural ties between the two countries in the future.
