CMCA signs an MOU with Maldivian artist community to jointly promote art and culture in Maldives

CMCA is thrilled to announce that a partnership has been formed between the Maldives Artist Community (MAC) and China-Maldives Cultural Association (CMCA) to promote arts and culture in the Maldives. On August 10, 2022, an official signing took place at Maagiri Hotel Rooftop, where a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between the two organizations.

This partnership aims to give Maldivian artists more visibility in the global arena and enhance cooperation and communication between the visual art academia, art entrepreneurs, and advocates for the visual art industry in both countries. The signing of the MOU will enable both organizations to work towards achieving these goals.

The MOU was signed jointly by the Chairperson of China-Maldives Cultural Association, Mr. Mohamed Rasheed, and the Chairperson of Maldives Artist Community (MAC), Mr. Ahmed Azmee (Baachy). The signing ceremony was witnessed by members of both organizations and other distinguished guests.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Mohamed Rasheed, the Chairperson of China-Maldives Cultural Association, expressed his delight at partnering with the Maldives Artist Community. He stated that this partnership would strengthen cultural ties between the two nations and provide a platform for Maldivian artists to showcase their talent globally.

Mr. Ahmed Azmee (Baachy), the Chairperson of Maldives Artist Community (MAC), thanked China-Maldives Cultural Association for partnering with them and spoke about the opportunities this partnership would provide to Maldivian artists. He also emphasized the importance of such collaborations in promoting arts and culture in the Maldives.
