School Students Immerse in Chinese Culture and History: A Transformative Cultural Exchange Visit to Beijing and Harbin

A group of 16 school students from Raa Atoll, Fuvahmulah, and Laamu Gan participated in a cultural exchange visit to Beijing and Harbin from December 23rd to December 30th. The visit provided the students with the opportunity to experience Chinese culture and history and explore some of the country's most famous landmarks and attractions.

During their stay in Beijing, the delegates visited the Forbidden City, the Great Wall, and the Bird's Nest Stadium. They also enjoyed an acrobatic show and visited the Experience Center Cuiarea, where they learned about Chinese culture and history. The students were particularly fascinated by the Muslim Street and the Huashi Mosque, where they got to experience the unique traditions of China's Muslim community.

The visit to Harbin provided a stark contrast to Beijing, as the delegates experienced the city's snowy climate and visited the Songhua River and Snow World. They also visited the Space Museum, which gave them a chance to learn about China's contributions to space exploration.

According to the participants, the trip was an unforgettable experience that allowed them to learn about Chinese culture and history while making new friends. "It was amazing to see the Great Wall and experience the snow in Harbin," said one of the students. "We also enjoyed learning about the Muslim community in China and visiting the Space Museum. It was a fantastic trip."

The cultural exchange visit was organized as part of a program to promote international understanding and foster cultural exchanges between different countries. The program aims to help young people develop a better understanding of other cultures and become more open-minded and accepting of different ways of life.

The visit was an opportunity for the students to experience Chinese culture firsthand and to learn about the country's history and traditions. It was also a chance for them to interact with Chinese people and make new friends, which they will cherish for a long time to come.

The success of this cultural exchange visit highlights the importance of such programs in promoting cross-cultural understanding and fostering international cooperation. It is hoped that similar initiatives will be undertaken in the future, as they help to promote peace, understanding, and tolerance between different nations and cultures.
