CMCA Cultural and Training Center Inaugurated, Fostering Cultural Exchanges between China and Maldives

CMCA cultural and Training center officially opened its doors on November 19, 2022. The opening ceremony, presided over by the Ambassador of People's Republic of China, H.E Wang Lixin, was a resounding success

The ceremony began with the unveiling of the center's name board by the Ambassador, followed by the signing of the guest book. Aishath Shaha, the master of the ceremony, then invited the participants to take their seats inside the center.

A special video documentary on the past works of the China-Maldivian Cultural Association was presented, followed by a video by the Chinese embassy commemorating the 50th anniversary. Mr. Mohamed Rasheed, the founder of CMCA, gave the welcome remarks, and certificates of appreciation were awarded to Beijing Urban Construction Group, Embassy of People's Republic of China in Maldives, Mr. Ahmed Rasheed Hussein (Handhube), and Mr. Mohamed Shieraz for their continued contributions and support to CMCA.

The Ambassador, Ms. Wang Lixin, then gave remarks, followed by a vote of thanks by Mr. Mifzal Hussein, the Resident Director of the Center. Refreshments were served, and a special dinner reception was held at Viluveli Guesthouse to celebrate the center's opening, featuring traditional boduberu.

The Hanimaadhoo center, with its state-of-the-art facilities, is now poised to become a hub for higher education and research in the Maldives. The partnership with YPC will not only benefit students but also create new opportunities for faculty members and researchers in the Maldives. CMCA, being a local partner, will offer logistical support and guidance to YPC as they establish their offshore campus in the Maldives.

The Hanimaadhoo Center of China-Maldives Cultural Association aims to promote cultural exchanges and strengthen the friendship between the two nations. We believe that the center will play an essential role in fostering greater understanding and appreciation of the diverse cultures of China and Maldives.
